Lesson Seven: The Authority to Live It Is in What’s Written

📅 Date: January 25, 2026

📖 Text: Psalm 139:14–16

OPENING TRUTH: HEAVEN OPERATES FROM RECORD

Psalm 139:16

“In Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.”

Key Words:

Book – Heb. Sepher

Book, scroll, written record

Official, authoritative document

Used for law, decrees, genealogies, purpose

NOTE: What is written has legal standing

Written – Heb. Kathab

To write, engrave, prescribe

Writing with intent, not reaction

POINT:

God is not recording events—He is declaring intention

Understand this:

Your life was written first, then lived.

Heaven already knows what is written—even if we do not yet.

Our role is not to invent purpose, but to align with what is written.

I. GOD DOES NOTHING ARBITRARILY

Everything in creation is governed by what is written.

Jesus said:

“I have come to do what is written of Me in the volume of the book.”

Jesus didn’t discover His purpose—He fulfilled what was already recorded.

1 John 5:6–8

The record is in heaven

The witness is on earth

II. THREE CATEGORIES OF BOOKS IN SCRIPTURE

1. THE BOOKS – HEAVEN’S GOVERNMENTAL RECORDS

Daniel 7:10

“The court was seated, and the books were opened.”

Judicial, not symbolic

Thrones set, court convened, verdicts issued

Books consulted before judgment

These books contain:

Purpose assignments

Obedience and disobedience

Stewardship records

Legal grounds for judgment

Revelation 20:12

Judged according to what was written in the books

These books do not determine salvation

They do determine reward, authority, outcome

2. THE BOOK OF LIFE – COVENANT IDENTITY

Revelation 20:15

Records:

Redemption

Covenant inclusion

Belonging

It answers one question:

Who belongs to Me?

Not about:

Rank

Calling

Works

3. THE BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE – FAITHFULNESS

Malachi 3:16

Records:

Faithfulness in obscurity

Obedience without applause

Honor given to God

Matthew 6:4

“Your Father who sees in secret will reward openly.”

III. AUTHORITY FLOWS FROM ALIGNMENT WITH WHAT’S WRITTEN

Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4):

Temptation 1: Stones to Bread

Pressure to act outside the record

Jesus: “It is written…”

Refusal to operate outside assigned will

Temptation 2: Throw Yourself Down

Satan quotes Scripture

Quoting Scripture doesn’t men its in alignment with Scripture

Jesus: “It is written again…”

POINT: Promises cannot be activated outside obedience

Temptation 3: Worship for Kingdoms

Authority without obedience

Jesus: “It is written…”

Illegal authority always collapses

Point:

Every temptation is an invitation to step outside what is written.

Notice Jesus didn’t defeat Satan’s temptation with power— He defeated him with alignment.

“It is written” was not a quote, it was a legal verdict.

IV. REVELATION MUST BE OBEYED

Deuteronomy 29:29

Revealed things belong to us that we may do them!

Revelation is disclosed truth—but truth must be executed.

James 1:22

“Be doers of the word…”

Revelation without obedience creates self-deception

Information does not move heaven, it’s our alignment that does.

Luke 12:47–48

More revelation equals more accountability

V. AUTHORITY IS RELEASED AT THE LEVEL OF OBEDIENCE

Philippians 2:8–11

Jesus humbled Himself

Became obedient

Therefore God exalted Him

Matthew 28:18

“All authority has been given to Me…”

Authority was released after obedience

Truth:

Gifts flow through impartation

Authority flows through obedience

Acts 19:15

“Jesus I know, and Paul I know…”

Authority is recognized in the spirit realm by alignment

VI. OBEDIENCE BUILDS CAPACITY

God reveals ahead of empowerment.

Examples:

David anointed → years before ruling

Israel promised land → wilderness first

Jordan parted only when priests stepped in

Empowerment follows obedience

God will not empower what we refuse to obey

VII. CAPACITY DETERMINES AUTHORITY

Matthew 25:29

“To him who has, more will be given…”

Capacity includes:

Character

Alignment

Endurance

Integrity

Spiritual weight

Vision does not qualify authority

Capacity does

Capacity is authorized ability—the ability to carry what God reveals without collapse.

VIII. PURPOSE IS REVEALED, NOT EXPERIMENTED

Psalm 139:16

“Your days were written before one existed.”

Design precedes deployment

Assignment precedes activity

Ephesians 2:10

Works prepared beforehand for us to walk in

Experimentation assumes the book is blank

Scripture says the book is already full

Jesus:

“I have come to do Your will…”

Adam:

Placed

Assigned

Authorized

Dominion collapsed when alignment was lost—not power.

FINAL TRUTH: THE LIBERATING REALITY

You do not need to find your purpose. You need to return to it.

Here is the FATHERS ORDER and biblical sequence:

God has written.

He reveals.

We align.

Authority is released.

Purpose is fulfilled.
