Lesson 22: Let Me See the Coin

They came asking Jesus about taxes. He confronted them about ownership.

In Mark 12:13–17 the Pharisees and Herodians — two groups who agreed on almost nothing — join forces to trap Jesus with a question where either answer would cost Him. Jesus refuses to answer on their terms. He asks for a coin, points to the image on it, and turns the whole conversation: the coin bears Caesar's image, so it belongs to Caesar. You bear God's image. So who do you belong to?
