Lesson Title: What Is Man – Lesson One: God Why Are You So Mindful of Man?

📅 Date: July 13, 2025

📖 Text: Psalms 8:4–5; Genesis 1:26

INTRODUCTION: A RETURN TO ORIGINAL INTENT

Today we will explore:

   •           God’s original design and prophetic intention for man

   •           What was lost through the fall: function, dominion, order, presence, glory

   •           Why Jesus came — not just to save us from hell but to restore purpose

Genesis 1:26 – “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…”

HEBREW WORD STUDY: MAN – אָדָם (Adam)

Letters: Aleph (א) – Dalet (ד) – Mem (ם)

A. א – Aleph

   •           Symbol: Ox head = strength, divine authority

   •           Aleph represents God Himself — man begins with God

➤ Without Aleph, Adam becomes Dam (blood): flesh without spirit

➤ With Aleph, man becomes a living soul – Genesis 2:7

   •           Nishmat chayyim = breath of life → impartation of spirit & function

Job 32:8 – “There is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives understanding.”

B. ד – Dalet

   •           Symbol: Door = access, choice, movement

   •           Man is the doorway between heaven and earth

   •           Charged to steward, guard, and represent God in creation

Genesis 2:15 – “To tend (avad) and keep (shamar)”

   •           Avad = to serve, cultivate, worship

   •           Shamar = to guard, protect, maintain order

➤ Adam was a priest, not a farmer — cultivating presence and guarding order

C. ם – Final Mem

   •           Symbol: Water = depth, mystery, divine flow

   •           Final form = sealed vessel, concealed mysteries

➤ Man was created to contain the deep things of God

   •           A vessel for divine revelation, spirit, and covenant purpose

John 20:22 – Jesus breathes on the disciples: “Receive the Holy Spirit”

John 7:38 – “Out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water”

REVELATION:

Aleph – You begin in God

Dalet – You are His door

Mem – You carry His mystery

IMAGE – צֶלֶם (Tselem)

Letters: Tsade (צ) – Lamed (ל) – Final Mem (ם)

A. צ – Tsade

   •           Pictograph: Hook or man bowed = righteousness, pursuit

➤ Drawn to God by design — like a divine magnet

➤ Psalm 42:1 – “My soul pants for You…”

➤ Psalm 42:7 – “Deep calls to deep…”

We are wired for divine attraction — image is both reflection and connection.

B. ל – Lamed

   •           Symbol: Shepherd’s staff = instruction, authority

➤ We are created to represent divine rulership

➤ God’s authority placed in man to reflect His dominion

C. ם – Final Mem

   •           Hidden depth, mystery, divine container

➤ God’s glory and presence were designed to dwell within man

➤ Tselem = visible expression of invisible God

LIKENESS – דְּמוּת (D’mut)

Letters: Dalet – Mem – Vav – Tav

A. ו – Vav

   •           Symbol: Nail or hook = connection

➤ Joins heaven and earth, spirit and flesh

➤ Speaks of reconciliation, divine-human oneness

B. ת – Tav

   •           Symbol: Cross or mark = covenant, seal, completion

➤ Represents finality, redemption, and ownership

 LIKENESS = A Blueprint

   •           Not just similarity — it’s identity in function and behavior

   •           Man was made to live, love, and rule like God

PSALM 8:4 – “WHAT IS MAN THAT YOU ARE MINDFUL OF HIM?”

Mindful – Hebrew: זָכַר (Zakar)

   •           To remember, act with intention, covenantal mindfulness

➤ God doesn’t casually remember man — He moves toward us with divine purpose

Romans 8:29 – “Predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son…”

Hebrews 1:3 – Jesus, the express image of the Father

Even before the fall, God had a plan for restoration

➤ Vav and Tav in D’mut prophetically point to Jesus — the Nail, the Cross

FINAL THOUGHT:

God’s mindfulness = His active intention to restore man to original identity

Jesus didn’t just redeem us — He reconnected us to divine image and function

🗣️ “You are not random — you are remembered.”

🗣️ “You are not lost — you are being restored.”

Christ is the Vav and the Tav — He’s the connection and the seal.

He came not just to forgive sin — but to recover your design.
