Meet together in a space guided by Scripture, wisdom, and grace.

Preparing for Your First Session

Before your first counseling session, we ask that you complete a brief intake form. This step helps us understand your situation and steward your time together well. It allows your session to focus on care rather than paperwork.

Intake Forms

Your consent form is an essential part of beginning the counseling process.

Once your intake is completed, our team can prayerfully review your information and prepare for your session.

Please complete your intake form before your first appointment.

Assessment and Ongoing Care

After your intake is received, you'll be invited to complete an assessment.

This assessment is used to bring clarity and support the counseling process.

This tool is meant to guide care, not to label or evaluate.

Scheduling and Resources

When appropriate, you will receive access to the pastoral counseling portal.

From there, you can schedule sessions and receive resources that support your journey.

You will be guided through each step.

Nothing is rushed.
Nothing is forced.

Marriage is sacred.
Seeking help is not failure.

We are honored to walk with you as you take this step.

Before You Schedule
Please note:

  • Completing your intake form is required before your first session.

This helps ensure your session time is used wisely.

What Happens After Scheduling

After scheduling:

  • You will receive confirmation of your request.
  • You will be guided through any remaining intake or preparation steps.
  • Our team will review your information prayerfully.

You do not need to prepare anything else at this time.

FAQ

What makes our marriage counseling approach distinct?
It is a discipleship-first approach that blends biblical counsel with practical skills. The InnerPulse assessment and HERO Report help us go straight to the heart of the matter.
Do we need to take the InnerPulse assessment?
Yes, we strongly recommend it. Your HERO Report gives immediate insight that provides deep understanding (Proverbs 4:7) leading to greater efficacy in the counseling process.
How are sessions structured?
Opening prayer and Scripture, review of insights, focused coaching and practice, then a short plan for the week. We encourage all counselors to open their hearts to be Spirit-led.  So, each session will flow as His Spirit leads.
Is this only for KLCM members?
No. It serves KLCM and the wider community. We offer pastoral, biblical counseling and can connect you to licensed clinical care when a referral is wise.
Is it confidential?
Yes, within our pastoral care framework. Standard safety exceptions apply when there is risk of harm or legal obligation.
