Joshua Generation

Who we are: Children’s Church ministry, grades 1st- 8th

God has position the J-Gen Ministry Team to help our youth develop a personal relationship with God. While second-hand faith is better than no faith, there’s no doubt that first-hand faith wins the prize.

We will help our youth develop a faith that says, “I believe in God, not because my parents say so, or because my youth minister or preacher says so, but because I have experienced and know God in my life.”

We will develop quality leadership among the youth. Jesus called His followers with, “Follow me.” By the end of His ministry He had trained them to lead. Paul even said, “Imitate me as I imitate Christ” (I Corinthians 11:1). We give J-Gen Youth responsibilities and let them lead. Dust them off when they fall down and encourage them to keep going. Students will experience the Spirit of God through relationships, both with the Divine through worship and spiritual practices, and with others through relationships marked by fidelity.

As a ministry team we shall build a Christ-like attitude and spirit into the youth. “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus,” Philippians 2:5. This means more than just asking, “What would Jesus do?” We want our children to be able to say, “I’m ready to connect with others, and go possess the land!”

What should your child bring with them: Bible, Pencil/Pen, Journal, and Offering.
